Persistent Fatigue

Fatigue can be caused by a large number of causes ranging from chronic infections, toxicity, inflammation, nutritional deficiency, hormonal problems and malabsorption – just to name a few. “I check all of my fatigue patients for nutritional deficiencies including, magnesium and other electrolytes, iron, inflammatory mediators, heavy metals and other causes that are suggested by their health history and my 30 yrs. of clinical experience. Environmental causes of fatigue may include various forms of radiation (i.e. electromagnetic), pollution, stress, lack of sleep and proper exercise and others. According to Dr .Wald, “it is important to realize that fatigue is always a “symptom” and not the cause of itself. There are nearly a dozen forms of anemias (deficiencies), like iron deficiency, but there are many other potential causes of fatigue. The best natural healing results will happen once a thorough investigation of nutritional deficiencies occurs. “Protein deficiency, excessive or the wrong types of carbohydrates and fats, are common causes of fatigue because these food “stuffs” often result in abnormal nervous system function (i.e., fatigue) and low neurotransmitter levels in the brain”, says Dr. Wald.
