Vitamins and Other Supplements – Do They Help?

Have you heard the saying, “you are what you eat?” Well, it is wrong as we are what we ABSORB from what we eat. Often foods will not provide high enough, or the right balance, of various nutrients so it is necessary (according to Dr. Wald), to use high quality nutritional supplements. “The quick answer to the question of whether or not vitamin supplements are helpful is YES!

Properly supplemented and determined nutritional supplements have proven positive effects for literally hundreds of varied health conditions. However, it is essential for best results to use the right foods and nutritional supplements for the right patient, taken the right way, at the right time and in the correct combinations to best promote health and healing. Not all supplements are the same. Dr. Wald only uses the highest quality nutritional products. According to Dr. Wald, first a healthy and personalized food plan is a must for optimal healing. Second, I then consider the best types and forms and dosages of nutritional supplements for my patient utilizing a careful health history, nutritional interpretation of lab tests and then develop a “do-able” health plan for my patients. It is common that some of my patients will need ongoing changes to my initial supplement recommendations based upon their response (healing). Testing, questionnaires and trial and error is also needed for my patients to get the best results possible.”
